How To Do A Background Check
There are several reasons that people would want to do a background check. There is a person hiring a nanny for their children, and there is a company hiring an employee for their business.
The first thing you can do is to hire a service. Services are listed on the Internet, the Yellow Pages, and elsewhere. Get as much information about the person to give to this service. The more information that they have the better they will be able to run a background search.
You can also ask for at least three references, and check up on each reference and get the details that the reference describes. The more references that are given, the harder it will be for the person to fabricate the references with friends or family members.
Have the person sign a release form that guarantees that you will be able to run a background search legally. If the search is legal, then you will face no repercussions for running the search if the person happens to find out about it unawares. This is especially important if you ask them to fill out a questionnaire ahead of time with a lot of information.
Call each relative that they have listed as a reference and verify if they are real references. Sometimes, just verifying that the relatives listed on the application are actually people can be a marker for how truthful the person is in the first place. Even if those relatives lie, you can at least verify that they’re relatives.
It is easy to do a background check, and it should be collaborative, free, and easy.
